Order of the Engineer Ceremony
The Order of the Engineer was initiated in the United States to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer. This tradition has been ongoing for over thirty years and across the country, graduate and registered engineers are invited to accept the Obligation of the Engineer and to wear a stainless steel ring. ASCE will conduct an Engineer’s Ring Ceremony at this year’s Congress. You are encouraged to become an Order of the Engineer member if you:
- Have graduated from an ABET-accredited engineering program, or
- Hold a license as a Professional Engineer, or
- Are enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program and within two academic terms of graduation.
Register online for the ceremony along with your Congress registration at: https://www.asce.org/conferences/ewri2004/ew04_register.cfm
