Environmental Multi-Media Council
Do you want to take part in advancing the technical level of environmental engineering? Are you interested in solid waste issues, perhaps development of bioreactor landfills or disposal of electronic waste, or helping find low cost and low tech water supply and wastewater treatment techniques for places in the world that don't have these basics, or helping to compile and publish innovative technologies and/or pollution prevention techniques? If you answered yes to any of these questions and more, the EWRI's Environmental Multi-Media Council is the place for you!
The topics mentioned above are just a few of the myriad projects that fall under the broad umbrella of the EMM Council, which covers most of the technical area of the former ASCE Environmental Engineering Division. Any topic related to Environmental Engineering is fair game to pursue and the Council can form and fund technical committees to take on specific projects. Typical products or services include conference sessions and journal publications, books or manuals of practice, continuing education courses, workshops, seminars, etc. We are especially looking for environmental sessions related to global climate change for the 2005 EWRI Congress in Anchorage.
The Council and its committees are looking for new active members who will participate in their work. You can contribute by researching topics, writing and/or reviewing papers, discussing possible continuing education with the Communications Council, or coordinating the efforts of others.
Interested members should contact Wendy Cohen, the EMM Council's News Correspondent, via e-mail at wcohen@dcn.org.
