The Mexican Hydraulics Association (AMH), a nationwide organization of water resources planners, engineers and other water professionals is headquartered in Mexico City and includes over 2,600 members. EWRI recently concluded a partnering agreement with AMH.

The signing ceremony was held at the Second International Symposium on Transboundary Waters Management last November in Tucson, Arizona. Representing AMH at the signing ceremony was AMH Vice President, Dr. Polioptro Fortunato Martinez Austria. Founding EWRI President, Dr. Conrad Keyes Jr., signed on behalf of EWRI. The agreement had been previously approved by the EWRI Governing Board and External Organizations Cooperation Council as well as the AMH Board of Directors. Mark Killgore, of the International Cooperation Council, and Dr. Martinez gave a brief overview of both organizations and Dr. Keyes gave a provocative talk about a lifetime of learning on the U.S. - Mexico Border and highlighted many EWRI and ASCE publications developed in the process. If you would like to be involved in the ICC or help organize future joint EWRI activities with the AMH, please contact Mark Killgore at 425-881-9083 or by email at mkillgore@louisberger.com.
