Membership Application
Purpose
To develop standard guidelines and/or standard of practice document(s) for the integration of risk reduction measures, due to malevolent events, into the design, construction, rehabilitation, installation, and/or operation & maintenance of water infrastructure projects.
Mission
The Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) created the Water Infrastructure Security Enhancements Standards Committee (WISE) for the purpose of developing standard guidelines and/or standard of practice document(s) to reduce risk due to malevolent events. These documents cover the design, construction, rehabilitation, installation, and/or operation and maintenance of water infrastructure projects. To accomplish this risk reduction program, the committee will organize technical sessions, workshops, and/or conferences for educating designers, owners, and operators of water infrastructure.
EWRI of ASCE has recruited individuals from several associations, industry representatives, national laboratories, and standards bodies to join the effort including:
