Subject: EWRI Governing Board Call for Nominations

I am pleased to provide you with an EWRI Governing Board (GB) Nomination Packet. Feel free to use the forms to nominate candidates (including self-nomination) for the EWRI Vice President position. The EWRI Vice President three-year tenure is as listed:

The Process Occurs in the following steps:
  1. Nominations and elections shall be guided by the Nominations and Elections Committee consisting of the three EWRI Past Presidents. The current EWRI Past-President shall serve as chair. The next two most recent EWRI Past-Presidents shall constitute the remaining members of the Nominations and Elections Committee. If a Nominations and Elections Committee consisting of three EWRI Past-Presidents cannot be formed, the EWRI President shall appoint as many additional members as necessary. All committee members shall be EWRI Individual members in good standing. No member of the Nominations and Elections Committee may be nominated. The nominations shall be guided by the Nominations and Elections Committee, which shall have the responsibility for developing nominations and for directing the election.

  2. The Nominations and Elections Committee submits to the EWRI Governing Board biographical, occupational and geographical information, and a signed letter from the nominee(s) indicating acceptance of the nomination no later than March 1st of each year.

  3. Nominee(s) approved by the EWRI GB become the Official Nominee(s). The EWRI Executive Director shall immediately notify all EWRI members of the Official Nominee(s) by placing a notice in the EWRI newsletter or by such other appropriate means.

  4. Nominations by petition may be filed with the EWRI Executive Director for the subsequent election and term of office. Petitions for such nominations shall contain the signatures of at least 200 individual voting members of EWRI. All Petitions shall be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. Eastern June 1st of each year. All petitions must be in accord with the EWRI bylaws as stated in the most current ASCE Official Register.

  5. The EWRI Executive Director shall announce the election results in the EWRI Newsletter and in Official Society Publications to the EWRI membership prior to October 1st or the start of the next fiscal year.
All nominees are required to submit the following by February 15, 2007**:

  • An EWRI Governing Board Nomination Form.
  • A Personal Statement and Visioning inclusive of a willingness to serve commitment if elected, and a vision for EWRI's future.
  • At the nominees option resumes or CVs may be included.
